 The Megalodon is one of the most famous and awe-inspiring creatures in Earth's history. Known scientifically as Otodus megalodon, this prehistoric shark lived millions of years ago and is widely regarded as the largest shark ever to exist.  Based on fossil evidence, scientists estimate that Megalodon could grow up to 15–20 meters (50–65 feet) in length , making it far larger than today's Great White Shark. Megalodon inhabited oceans around the world during the Miocene and Pliocene epochs, approximately 23 to 3.6 million years ago.
